With the aim of providing an international platform to facilitate exchange of ideas and innovations, IIFA introduced the IIFA Forum in 2002.
Malaysia witnessed the first ever IIFA Forum in 2002.
The focus was on the emerging perspectives of Indian Cinema, the exchange of technology and talent.
In 2003, the second edition of the IIFA Forum was held during the IIFA Weekend in Johannesburg. The Forum focused on tackling piracy and exploring new revenue streams for the industry.
The IIFA Forum in 2004 in Singapore drew a full house. Hosted in partnership with the Media Development Authority, Singapore, the focus was on ‘Globalisation of Indian Cinema’ and ‘Co-Production between India and Singapore’.
With shared synergies and interests to promote Indian Cinema worldwide, IIFA along with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry got involved in a joint effort, which resulted in the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum.
The FICCI - IIFA Global Business Forum is a place for big ideas, international business and networking. A global platform, it brings together business leaders, policy makers, and dignitaries from India, Netherlands and the world.
The
FICCI - IIFA Global Business Forum was held for the first time in Amsterdam at Expo XXI during the IIFA Weekend
2005 and covered various facets of business in fields like cinema and entertainment, civil aviation, commerce and industry and tourism.
