10 Alia Bhatt movies that every Bollywood fan should watch.

The talented star who made her debut in the year 2012 with the movie Student of the Year, winning the hearts of millions. What has unfolded during this decade has been the actor’s promising journey of carving her own niche in Bollywood and delivering huge successes.

  1. Gangubai - Gangubai Kathiawadi

The latest in the hall of fame for the actor. The movie where she very powerfully and poignantly depicts the role of the mafia queen of Mumbai and the story of how she brought about a change in society, slowly but surely.

  1. Sehmat - Raazi

Another power-packed performance by the actor. The film where she plays the character of a national spy on duty. Directed by the very talented Meghna Gulzar, the film brings out the raw emotions of a woman who is both courageous and forthright against the enemy.

  1. Shanaya - Student of the Year

The debut movie of the actor deserves to be first on the list. She plays the role of the fashionably-forward Shanaya Singhania. It's a sweet and romantic film, with the screenplay  completely befitting a school romance, replete with a love triangle twist to it.

  1. Kaira - Dear Zindagi

The movie that moved everybody to tears. With her relatable dialogues and her emotional outbursts, this is one of the most layered characters played by the A-list actor. The camaraderie between Dr. Khan and Kiara is simply commendable and just hits the spot each time.

  1. Ananya - Two States

Based on the novel by the same name by the writer Chetan Bhagat, the movie is a tale of two lovers and their fight with their families to approve of their wedding plans. Cute doesn't begin to describe the chemistry between Ananya and Krish. Yep, they do finally get married and in a very celebratory and dramatic way, like it should be!

  1. Bauria - Udta Punjab

Another strong portrayal of a female character, she plays a girl who is trying to escape from the grip of a vicious pack of goons who peddle drugs to earn money. The aftermath of her getting involved in this fiasco begins by her being chased around the city outskirts. The stunning expressions of the actor convey more than the dialogues.

  1. Veera - Highway

A brave girl who speaks her mind and finds her own ways after a difficult childhood. Alia aces the role beautifully with many touching nuances throughout the movie. One of Imtiaz Ali’s finest works, this film is based on the touching subject of Stockholm Syndrome.

  1. Safeena - Gully Boy

The movie is based on the story of Murad, a rap-star in the making with her supportive girlfriend on the side, there is so much more to Safeena than just that. A driven, freedom-loving and very impulsive young girl always knows how to find her own way. A rare and coming-of-age character for the leading ladies of Bollywood.

  1. Tia - Kapoor and Sons

The chirpy and easy-going Tia who has her feet firmly planted to the ground, is calm and placid enough to distinguish between whats right and wrong and is understanding enough. The adorable character is mature enough to take things as they come and stand by the people she loves most.

  1. Alia - Shaandaar

She plays her namesake in the very dramatic movie that tells the story of two sisters and a twisted yet loving family, somehow! The chemistry between Alia and JJ is undeniable. What unravels at her sister’s wedding is something to watch!

The young achiever who has drastically changed the way Bollywood looks at leading ladies is all about pushing the envelope, be it her choice of film projects or the causes she believes in. We wish her the best for all her future endeavors!
