The 2000's ushered in a new era in Bollywood. From the romantic films of the nineties, Bollywood embarked on the genre of emotion, stylised action and realism. Here is a list of films that will take you back to your childhood.

1. Koi…Mil Gaya
Some say it India’s original, and some say it was inspired by E.T nevertheless, Koi Mil Gaya is one the most remembered and watched film of the 2000s. Rohit and Jaadoo were a part of our childhood. Koi mill Gaya was directed by Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinda starred in the lead roles.


2. Dhoom
Rage, eccentric and thrilling is the real feel of the film, Dhoom. The film was a commercial success and was also the genesis of high-speed bike chase in Bollywood. The film stared John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in the lead roles.


3. Taare Zameen Par
Aamir Khan's debut film, Taare Zameen Par, was a compelling film about education in India. It made us realise that every child is born with a special talent and we just need to find it out.


4. Chillar Party
A hilarious yet conscious movie which explained to us how valuable children are in our society. The innocence, fearless love and unity displayed in this movie by the chillar party was surely one of a kind.
