1. Asoka (2001)

Asoka is the epic tale of King Ashoka's life sharing his struggles of becoming the greatest warrior king of all time. The star Shahrukh Khan did an exceptionally excellent job to bring out the warrior instinct making this movie a must-watch.


 


2. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose - The Forgotten Hero (2005)

The story includes Netaji's life's flashback sequences and shares personal events of his life. The role of Subhas Chandra Bose was quite important for the country, as he helped build a foundation for what India is today! 




3. Mangal Pandey - The Rising (2005)

The story of this Indian soldier touches every Indian's heart. He shares a special place in our heritage, as his sacrifice was a crucial turning point for the freedom movement. Aamir Khan took almost 4 years to prepare and complete this movie. 




4. Jodhaa Akbar (2008)

The story of Jodhaa Akbar is based on the personal life of the Mughal emperor Akbar who loved and married an Indian Rajput princess Jodhabai. The movie depicts a few qualities of the Indian Ruler and his work ethic to perfection. 




5. Chittagong (2012)

The film is inspired by the story of a forgotten freedom struggle from the undivided Bengal. The events of British India's Chittagong uprising hold an important significance in Indian heritage.
