Romantic Bollywood Films To Spark The Romance In Your Life

The first thing that pops into our head when we hear 'Bollywood' is romance. From songs and dancing to grand gestures that make our hearts a fuzzy mess, Bollywood has it all. Now that Valentine’s Day is nearing and love is in the air, you may want your romantic life to be all glittery and gold. In case you don’t know how to sing or dance, a simple movie date will do the magic. Here are some romantic Bollywood films to spark the romance in your life.

  1. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na: In today’s Bollywood Era, where college students drive sports cars to college, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na reminds us of what romance feels like in real life. If best friends to lovers is your kinda movie, then it’s a must-watch. Even though Aditi and Jai are oblivious to the fact that they are in love, their sweet gestures and care for each other will surely make you bubbly and happy.

  1. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: Do you remember the first time you went out on a secret date? That perfect mix of thrill, adventure, and fear, with adrenaline pumping through your veins. Well, that’s what Naina felt like when she went on that trip. YJHD is the kind of movie that teaches you to fall in love but not at the cost of your dreams. It also teaches that loving someone is okay, but knowing when to move on is more important. If you feel like the spark is dimming, watch it together and see how you fall in love with them all over again.

  1. Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein: If you don’t believe in love at first sight, it’s because you are yet to watch RHTDM. The way Maddy loves Reena is somewhat hard to find nowadays. The song and the plot are to die for. So, if you have found the one, hold on to them.

  1. Dum Laga Ke Haisha: Arranged marriages, to begin with, are not much appreciated by today’s generation. Movies like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, show that people can fall in love even if they started with an arranged marriage. It also breaks the stereotype of marrying less educated, more fair, and slim girls. Love comes in all shapes and sizes, you just have to find your person.

  1. Barfi!: Barfi! Is a refreshing film in the sea of rich boy/poor girl, boy meets girl and bad boy/good girl movies. It teaches us that love has no language. The relationship between a deaf and mute boy and an autistic girl speaks volumes. Barfi!, (Ranbir Kapoor) has proven that actions are more meaningful than words. Love, romance, comedy, and heartbreak, Barfi! Is a the complete package.

  1. Two States: When two people who belong to different cultures and castes decide to get married, everything turns into a mess. With inter-caste marriages still being treated as a taboo in India, the story narrates the difficulties faced by the couple. At the end of the roller coaster ride, the two families finally get together and Krish and Ananya get married. There are a number of twists and turns in the film, but those sneaked moments of romance make it everything.

  1. Cocktail: The storyline definitely fits the name. The movie is a cocktail of emotions. You’ll go from wanting to party hard to laughing to crying your heart out. A love triangle between friends, lots of fantastic music, and comedy. It’s happiness and heartbreak in perfect proportions. In case you have been in a love triangle, you’ll relate to Veronica. Anyways, the happy ending is good enough to make the sparks fly.

Spend the day of love cuddled up next to your partner for a fun movie night.
