This film changed the course of Bollywood from romantic to the action-packed cinema. In that era, India was submerged in corruption and greed and Zanjeer gave them the hero who fights against all odds to maintain the equilibrium in the society. This film was Amitabh Bachchan`s first solo hit and also the inception of his screen name Vijay which he later used in more than 20 movies.

2. Yaarana
This film was an Indian adaptation of a Hollywood film ‘Sleeping with the Enemy’. The original film was a thriller which was shaped into a comedy thriller for the Indian audience.
